SOUND FAMILIAR?

The tears at the school gate. The Sunday-night stomach aches. The homework meltdowns, the “I’m not going”, the reassurance that works for ten minutes and then doesn’t.

You’ve read the books. You’ve tried the charts. And you’re exhausted — because everything you try fixes the moment, and the moment keeps coming back.

Here’s what twenty years of working with anxious children has taught me: the behaviour is never the problem. It’s the signal. Underneath every pattern that won’t shift, there’s a skill your child hasn’t built yet. Fix the moment and you’ll fix it forever. Build the skill and the moments stop coming.

HOW IT WORKS

We start with you and me, one-to-one — a private call in the first week where I get to know your child, your family, and the specific pattern you’re stuck in. Then five live Thursday-evening sessions (8pm, online), with two guided implementation weeks built in — because skills aren’t built by listening to me, they’re built by practising at home, and the space to do that is part of the design, not a gap in it. And when the sessions are done, we finish the way we started: one-to-one — loose ends tied, your questions answered, and a clear plan for your family going forward.

Week 1 — 24–30 September: Your opening private one-to-one with me — we map your child’s specific skills-gap, so the programme starts already tailored to your family

Session 1 — Thu 1 October, 8pm: Understanding Your Child’s Anxiety

Session 2 — Thu 8 October, 8pm: The Calm Toolkit

Implementation Week — w/c 12 October: Guided missions by email — put it into practice, at your pace. No call this week

Session 3 — Thu 22 October, 8pm: Building Bravery

Half-Term Implementation Week — w/c 26 October: Consolidate and embed — guided missions, no call

Session 4 — Thu 5 November, 8pm: Wins, Wobbles & Troubleshooting

Session 5 — Thu 12 November, 8pm: The Confident Term Ahead

Closing Week — w/c 16 November: Your closing private one-to-one — loose ends tied, questions answered, and a clear plan for your family for the months ahead

Included: two private one-to-one calls with me — one before we begin, one after we finish, with your family’s forward plan · five live evening sessions with open Q&A · guided implementation missions between sessions · replays within 24 hours if you can’t make a week · a private resource hub with every tool, printable and script — yours for good · questions emailed in advance answered on every call

WHY ONLY 18 PLACES

Because I personally meet every family one-to-one — at the start and at the end — and in the sessions between, I know whose child is which and your questions get answered properly, specifically, every week. Eighteen is the most families I can genuinely do that for. Two places went before I’d even announced it.

IS IT FOR YOU?

It’s for you if: your child (roughly 7 to 18) worries more than feels right, melts down over small things, avoids what they used to enjoy — and you want to change the pattern, not paper over it.

It isn’t for you if: your child is in crisis — entrenched school refusal, self-harm, an eating disorder. That needs more than a group programme. Email me and I’ll point you to proper support instead: that’s a promise, not a brush-off.

QUESTIONS PARENTS ASK

What happens in the one-to-ones? In the first, we talk about your child — what’s happening, what you’ve tried, and where the skills-gap most likely sits, so the programme starts already tailored to your family. In the last, we tie up anything still niggling and leave you with a plan you can actually follow once the programme ends.

What if I can’t make every Thursday? Replays land in your hub within 24 hours, questions emailed in advance get answered on the call, and the tools stand alone.

Is it therapy? No — it’s skills-building for you, the parent. I’m a psychologist, and this is preventative work; it doesn’t replace clinical care where that’s needed.

What ages does it work for? It’s built for parents of 7 to 18-year-olds. The principles are the same at every age — the scripts and tools change, and each session covers both younger children and teenagers. If you’re unsure about your child, just email and ask me directly.

Do both parents come? One place covers your household — bring whoever does bedtime.

September doesn’t have to be the month you survive.
It can be the month things start to change.

I’d love you in the room. — Maryhan
